 White Porcelain Pot with Elephant-headed Spout and Dragon-headed Handle

Manufactured in the Sui Dynasty (581-618), this white porcelain pot, 13 cm high, was excavated from Zhang Sheng’s tomb, dating from the fourth year (584) of the Kaihuang reign period of the Sui Dynasty, in Anyang County, Henan province. With an elephant-headed spout and a dragon-headed handle, the modeling is typical of that of the Sui Dynasty.
