This is one of a set of four stools. The high-waisted form contains narrow pierced openings (yumendong鱼门洞). The aprons and spandrels are cared in relief with five precious pearls (wubaozhu 五宝珠) . the seat edge is outlined by relief carving in a rectangular spiral pattern (guaizi 拐子). Although the stool is in an unconventional design it functions well.
