Celadon ewer in the shape of a figure

Song Dynasty
Height: 29cm

The ewer is in the shape of a man with a tall hat. Wearing a long garment, he stands upright on his two legs, exposing a small part of his feet. His body is hollow to serve as a pot with the hole on his head as the mouth. He holds a square-mouthed spout right in front of his chest. The handle is attached in the middle of his back. The man looks sober-minded. The whole body of the ewer is applied evenly with celadon glaze. The thickness of the glaze varies due to the creases in the garment, which in turn creates a three-dimensional effect.
