Celadon-Glazed Pot with Chiseled Patterns & Two Ears

Western Han Dynasty
Height: 32.6cm
Mouth diameter: 14.3cm
Foot diameter: 14cm

Splayed mouth, long neck, sloping shoulders with an ear on both sides, bulgy belly and loop leg; the pot is applied with yellowish green glaze, with chiseled patterns around the shoulders and five lines of string patterns adorning the neck, shoulders and the belly.

The pot is simply shaped and patterned and applied with a thick layer of dark-colored glaze. It is a typical article in the transitional period between the Western-Han primitive celadon ware and the Eastern-Han celadon ware.
