An Underglaze Bule and Yellow "Floral" Jar

Xuande period, Ming Dynasty
Height: 13cm

Thick walled, but finely crafted form rests on a bowed ring foot, arching in briefly to a long, rising, outwardly splayed flank, coming to high, sturdy shoulders that round off to a short straight lip, belly graced with a lush classic floral scroll, with full foliage in dark blue hues and banked by a lemony ground, framed at top and bottom with floral bands, base with double-staged foot and Xuande mark in regular script and with a double ring.
