Hollow-head spade coin is one of the primordial coins widely used in the Spring and Autumn Period. With a pointed foot, flat foot or more preciously, arc foot, their shapes are close to bronze spades. It's really valuable that this spade coin has five casting characters, more than one or two generally found on hollow-head spade coins.

In emulation of the shape of a bronze shovel used in farm work, spade coins are bronze coins circulated in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, two major types of which are hollow-head ones and flat-shouldered ones.
