Silver Pot Engraved with Flowers and Sanskrit Script

Height: 21.2cm
Mouth diameter: 1.3cm
Bottom diameter: 9.8cm

The pot has a small mouth, a long curved spout, a contracted neck and a bulging belly, with a raised beast head on the belly. There's a lid on the mouth and a lotus base at the bottom, with gilded silver Sanskrit script ringing the belly. The middle of the neck and the belly are adorned with gilded silver lotus patterns and many other floral motifs. There's a decorative flower at the bottom of the pot.

The peculiarly-shaped silver pot is made with superb craftsmanship and used to be a Buddhist instrument in the worshipping hall of the imperial court.
