Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery

Born in Hong Kong, Ms Catherine Kwai is the founder of the Kwai Fung Culture and Communications Co. Ltd. Before she started her art business, Ms Kwai served international banks and insurance companies for many years. With an enduring passion for art and experience in collecting in earlier years, in 1992, she determined to resign from the financial services and established the first member of the Kwai Fung Group - Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery, which has focused on the introduction of European oil paintings and sculptures.

In 1996, on the foundation of the Gallery, Ms Kwai founded Kwai Fung Art Consultants. It is engaged in assistance to corporations in the planning and selection of art collection, as well as the application of art designs and installation in upgrading of environment.

In 2000, Ms Kwai established Kwai Po Collection. The masterly French lithography technique inherited through many generations are applied for production and publication of prints created by internationally renounced contemporary Chinese painters, to make many more outstanding modern Chinese paintings accessible to a wider audience.

In more than a decade, the Group have introduced numerous modern European art pieces to Hong Kong and Mainland China, broadened the horizon of the local art scene and promoted cultural interflow between China and foreign countries.

At the same time, Ms Kwai herself also tirelessly supports art activities. She has been the curator of a number of influential art exhibitions, including the Exhibition of Italian master Modigliani "Liner Grace - Drawings and Sculptures by Amedeo Modigliani" at the University Museum and Art Gallery, the University of Hong Kong, the "40 Years Retrospective Exhibition" of French master Bernard Cathelin at the Shanghai Art Museum and the Touring Exhibition "Brilliant Tranquility - Szeto Lap" at National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Art Museum, China Academy of Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Art, and University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong.
