'Ellen DeGeneres Show' renewed to 2020

NBC has renewed "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for four more years.

NBC Universal has picked up the highly-rated daytime series through to the 2019/2020 television season.

This will ensure the daytime talkshow, which premiered in September 2003, will reach at least 17 years on the air.

The show has consistently ranked as the highest-rated daytime chatshow among women since "The Oprah Winfrey Show" ended in 2011.

It has been an Emmy Awards darling and the host has earned 14 People's Choice Awards so far.

Producers of the People's Choice Awards DeGeneres have just announced that DeGeneres will be recognized as the Favorite Humanitarian for her humanitarian work.

She has also been nominated for Favorite Talk Show Host at the fan-voted People's Choice Awards this year.
